September Newsletter

BUSINESS

Kim Giddens

October 21, 2024

Welcome to the first edition of my highly anticipated monthly newsletter!
(Highly anticipated by me, of course, because as any business owner knows, the beauty of being your own boss is setting your own deadlines—or letting them stretch. But that’s a story for another time!)

This endeavor has been on my to-do list for quite some time📋, possibly delayed due to baseball, so I couldn’t resist the opportunity to celebrate the Yankees taking the top spot in the American League division!

Whether you love them or hate them you probably❤️ those champagne goggles (you know who you are:))

so the newsletter…

September Inspiration

Some of my favorite things about owning my own business are…
🧘‍♀️ flexibility to pursue interests beyond the business at hand
👗wear whatever I want (this is more a branding thing than a leisure thing )
🛣️ freedom to move my schedule fastly to attend a conference/course/networking event/concert…you get the gist.

As a result, there are a lot of things that cross my mind, land on my list to share so the newsletter is a perfect opportunity to cross of the list!

Every month, I’ll be sharing a curated mix of my favorite resources, perspectives or interesting things related to Team Leadership, Personal Well-Being, Business & Culture, Global Impact or Lifestyle type things.

Lucky for me (and you) September was jam packed with interesting stuff, so much that I couldn’t fit it all in for this edition!

Here is what is what to look for if it’s TLTR:

October Season

I have often said September was made for New York City, the weather is glorious, making it extra delightful to travel all over the city. This year was no exception beginning with the US Open and culminating with the 2nd annual Climate Week NYC, happening in conjunction with the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations.

Scroll down for some of the highlights!

The real winner of the US Open was…

Honey Deuce, a specialty cocktail created by Nick Mautone, former Grey Goose ambassador, rang up almost $13 Million in the two week span of the US Open. I may have contributed to some of that revenue on my 3rd annual Labor Day visit, a family tradition.

Thankfully I was the host for our monthly book club and I had an opportunity to go all in with a tennis theme and serve 🎾 up some Honey Deuces.

which had nothing to do with the book we read, Summer Fridays by Suzanne Rindell, but that wasn’t the point ❤️

A little more serious but equally satisfying given the impact of the world’s leaders 17 Sustainable Development Goals

Did you know?
Well I definitely missed the fact that 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were created and agreed on by world leaders in 2015, designed to create a better, more equitable world by 2030, and we’re more than halfway through!

I did a deeper dive in a blog post which you can read here!

Beyond 🎃🧙‍♀️👻, October kicks off goal setting season for companies and team leaders.
I love this quote I just came across from Donella Meadows, an American environmental scientist, educator and writer. Side note…environmental science is hot topic and great career path!

Goal-setting is a big deal at Personologie—it’s about looking ahead with intention while taking stock of what we’ve learned. I’m busy crafting resources to help leaders and companies reflect on this year while preparing the year(s) ahead.

If you’re interested in getting early access to templates and tools focused on goal-setting and preparation for the new year, subscribe to our exclusive list here. I can’t wait to share these valuable resources with you!
